We have a WINNER!!

First of all, I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you to each of you for stopping by my blog.

I was blown away by all of your comments!!  Thanks for helping me feel the love.  If you were here, I'd hug you all.

Without further delay, let's get to our winner.....

103 of you commented....so I used the old fashioned method (aka:  Debbie's method)....because I have zero skills when it comes to technology and computers.
(I mean seriously, it is a miracle that I've been able to actually have this blog.  I am that pathetic.)

So, no random generator for me.

Can I get a drum roll???
Isn't my helper cute??
Our winner is.....
S'more of My Thoughts at My Wheels are Turning!!!!!

Now here's the funny part, when I went to her blog...guess what it's theme is???  It's all about camping!  I thought that was pretty funny considering I am so...."not the camping type."
(Although, maybe if I had an RV, I'd be singing a different tune!)

Congratulations S'more!! I'll be in touch with you.

For the rest of you, I've got a question....

Earlier today I had commented on a friends blog that I was so excited because unleaded gas was $3.53 a gallon here.  Well, when I was running around today I saw that it had dropped to $3.49 a gallon for unleaded!!  Boy was I excited.  I pulled right in and filled up my Mommivan.

Isn't that sad that in my mind $3.49 is a bargain???!!!

When I was in college gas was 70 cents a gallon for unleaded!  That right people I said 70 cents!! (Yes, I'm old....it's okay...the 40's rock!)

So, here's my question...since you guys are from all over....how much is a gallon of unleaded gas where you live??

My husband says it's 'in the 3.40s' here in Missouri. I don't pay much attention - although I do see it going down. I have to buy it. I just don't look. It's easier that way!

Thanks for stopping by today - or 'yesterday,' as it were!

Oh wow! Thank you!!!! I can't believe I won! And yes, that's pretty funny about the camping thing. Although I'll admit, we skipped the whole tent & pop-up phases 'cuz we knew we weren't cut out for that! Basically I really only like the things that were on your "top ten" list. But what's Cornhole???

Oh - I almost forgot ... yesterday gas was $3.75 here in VA.

Thank you again!

I'm in Nor Cal and it's $3.89!! Woohoo! A few weeks ago it was $4.59 so I'm happier. Still way to expensive but at least I'm not hitting over $50 for filling up my tank!

Congrats to the winner! Yes, that really is my purple house. :) I'll have to look for that book you mentioned.

Gas in our neck of the woods just dropped down to $3.95/gallon. A bargain compared to a month ago!

It varies here in the Salt Lake City Suburbs... $3.95 - $4.35 right now... Ugh!!!

We are on the Central Coast of California. We just filled up tonight. $3.99 and we were thrilled. Isn't that sad?

Heathahlee said...

Well I guess I have the best "bargain" at $3.38 in North Mississippi just south of Memphis.

You're right, I can't believe we're getting excited about gas over $3! When I was in college I passed a gas station that had closed its doors. The price of the gas was $1.50 (this was when gas was never over $1). I thought, "No wonder this place closed...the gas is so expensive...we'll NEVER pay that much for a gallon of gas!" HA!

Kori said...

Alabama it's 3.53 so maybe 3.49 is coming our way. Hmmmm...

Thanks so much for your kind words and congratulations to the winner.

Ugh - $3.79 if you can find it for cheap. But it's usually 5-10 cents more most places.

I remember gas for $0.99 in college. I could fill my tank for $12.00!

Forgot to add: I'm in MI

NC - 3.54

But oil was up yesterday about $6 a barrell so be ready for it to creep up again.

Congrats....we are all chuckling with you as we cheer for the "cheap gas." I just had that same enthusiasm when I saw our gas price in NC of $3.49...so excited and then he squashed it like a bug when he said "didn't it go under a dollar a few years ago, mom?" Little bugger. :)

Shannon said...

In my part of Arkansas it has never gotten over $4 and right now it is slowly going down. Currently it is $3.41

I think I saw a sign yesterday for $3.35 in SC.

Unknown said...

Right now it is $3.53 in Atlanta.

I am in TN... I filled up two days ago for $3.29/gallon. Not sure what it is today.

And we think alike on camping. I've never been and have no plans to... unless we have an RV that has a bathroom, kitchen, air conditioning and cable TV.

Nik said...

TN here and it was 3.49 yesterday.

Congrats to the winner!

Frizzy said...

CA was $3.78 yesterday but with shopping discounts from Safeway I only paid $3.58. HA, ONLY!!! Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Congrats to your winner. Yeah!

I don't go anywhere anymore--so I don't know how much gas is?? Shame huh? If gas is going back down now, may be time for me to venture out into the world again!!

Thanks for the tips on the hard boiled eggs...last night when my hubby got home...he said, "So, I hear you had a little trouble with some eggs today?" I said, "yea, how'd you know?" He said, "I saw Rick and Lezel...and they read the blog and told me! Seriously, is it that bad you have to post about EGGS now?" If that makes you feel any better about what your hubby would say! Here in Ok...I got gas for $3.38 at the beginning of the week :) Another tip too is even though it may be cheaper at some places make sure it does not have the ethanol in it...makes a HUGE difference! If I was all smart and all I could tell you why...but I'm not, so just believe me...cause my hubby is smart :)

Its $3.48 this morning and I was so stinking excited to see it so low.... that is a crying shame.

I just got gas today (in NC) and it was $3.49. I have to keep myself from thinking this is cheap. I remember all too well the days where I could fill up my little Honda for $13.00. Dang. Thanks for stopping by Pocket Change today. I'm bummed I missed your giveaway. You know, I've never stopped by before. I'll have to take me a looksee around. Have a good one.

I am also in my 40's getting on up to the 50's not to far from now...hehehe...but aint 40's grand!

Gas is $3.59 in my area but I am so wanting it to get lower and lower so let's keep those fingers crossed.

You say camping ...I love going to the mountains...I remember camping when I was a little girl every summer and I have tried to pass this on to my children....anyway have a great weekend and don't feel bad I am not the best with puters either but I am learning.

I understand gas taxes in Washington State are the highest in the States. Right now we are ranging from the Mid $4.00 at the pricey stations to $3.77 at Arco and Costco.
BTW, I remember that in the 60's my husband and I used to put $1.00 in our tank to go out on a date. We also got dinner at McDonalds for $1.00 apiece and into the movies for $1.00 for both of us. Gosh, that was so long ago:{

Virginia: $3.65! Congrats to your winner, too! :)

I jsut finished New Moon and am about to start Eclipse! I had to wait for it to come in- I couldn't find it locally and had to order off the internet!

I'm in NE Baltimore and our gas stations are in the $3.55 range. I did the same thing when I noticed how "low" it had gone. So crazy!

It was $3.50-something in Paradise, PA, when I drove through in my rented gas-guzzler the other day. (I only know because my friend filled up and commented. I just close my eyes and pump. It's not like it's going to make any difference if I know...)

Thanks for commenting on my Saucy blog. Enjoyed your "Meryl Lind" post. Just finished a book by Laura Lippman, set in BAW'more, so I feel like a local.

Phew 70 cents sounds much better than $3.71 here in South Florida.

Hi Kathi! Woo hoo...look at all these comments!! We are hovering around $3.79 which I thought was a bargain!

That blog crack is addictive isn't it!

I blogged a picture a while back of my husband in 1998 by a gas station sign with 72.9. Seriously! This was in GA the year we got married, and it was in the 80s here. A quick and deep dip from probably the 1.30 range. Anyway, it's back up to 3.66 here after a little dip into the 3.40s. A good deal would be under $2.00 in my book!!

I read your balloon story, and cannot believe that guy charged you! Yikes! But hey, you've got some beautiful pictures and a great story. :-)

Filled up today at $3.85 a gallon in Idaho. I still have my reciept from my first fill up as a grown up away at college girl---.99 a gallon!

Melissa B. said...

It dropped to $3.60 today! Yay!! Did you ever think we'd be applauding gas at over $3.00 a gallon? BTW, don't forget it's Sunday, and you know what THAT means--S4 is underway today!

Very nice here!

OK, it's 660 pesos for 1 liter. 1 liter = 3.78 gallons, so that is 2494.80 pesos. Given a 500 pesos for the dollar exchange rate, we are paying $4.99 per gallon. Ouch. This is why we chose to rent an apt. centrally located. ;)

It was so good to see you too!! I'm glad I did! I'll be seeing you on breaks! And I'll be blogging more often...I finally updated on Barnabas, even though I know you already got that update! Thank you again for your support!

Congrats to Smores. Whatever she won. Love the longaberger basket the names were in :-) I am so not a camper either. My husband was an eagle scout, so you can imagine his disappointment when I tell him the only roughing it I'll do is at the Holiday Inn instead of the Marriott.

And gas here in suburban Atlanta? I gassed up Friday for $3.51. And was excited. I wonder if it's gone down since then.

When I was in high school, there was a pair of gas stations having a war, and the prices got down to 37 cents a gallon. But I don't recall what "normal" prices were at the time. Probably 8oish cents...

Rela Pantaleon said...

I was the driver last Saturday but I did not even look at the gas price as my husband was the one who loaded up.

Anyhow, check out my blogpost re Gas prices. It's got a link to a very useful website that shows the price comparison throughout the whole US!

BTW, thanks Kathi for the comment on the Lumpia. Did you cast your vote for the Lumpia at Saucy Eats?

It's no bargain here in England - £1.25 for diesel. That's about £5 a gallon. I don't know what that equates to in dollars but I do know that it's too darn expensive!
Just getting round to thanking everyone for visitin on my SITS day - I really do appreciate it.

Thank you for coming by today. I guess in a world where family is disappearing, blog family is even more rare.
Gas is about $3.75- but I went to Safeway the otherday because Arco's card reader wasn't working, and I had aquired enough gas discounts to get it at $3.50. Funny, because I don't shop at Safeway often enough to even think about it.

Unknown said...

Hey cutie!!! Yesterday morning I was getting gas for 3.54 and WHILE I WAS PUMPING THE GAS, the guy came out and dropped it to 3.49. SO not fair!!!
