It's Almost Time!!

Hello my Bloggin' friends!!  I'm so sorry I haven't been around lately...I have been consumed with getting ready for The Marine Corps Marathon this Sunday!!!!!

These past couple of months my runs have gotten longer which means the time it takes me to run them has also gotten longer....we're talking 2, 3, or 4 hours!!!!  A few weeks ago I ran my longest run at 20 miles...and honestly I thought I wasn't going to make it!

The race is Sunday, so please think of me.  I'm praying for no rain, for my left knee to hold up, and for the stamina to finish the 26.2 miles!!!

Myself and 18,000 other people will be running in it...so look for me on TV!

Good luck on Sunday. I've done two and was supposed to do another in January, but health issues kept me from training.

It is such an accomplishment and you can count yourself among a very small percentage of people when you finish.

Quick tip, that helped me a lot, even though it sounded foul at the time...get salt packs from McDonald's (have to be from there, as their salt is really fine) and keep them in your pack. You never think you're going to crave salt while running, but we had someone who passed out pretzels during my first marathon and they were the best thing ever, lol.

Also, get a massage either Monday or Tuesday. You've earned it, and it really, really helps!

kathi - i have been looking at your site. we were going to show up but butch thought with 18,000 runners and 100,000 plus fans, we would never find you. i see that you finished in 6 hours plus..you FINISHED!!!! WOW!!! i am impressed but mostly i hope you are ok. i figure you feel like dying about now (at least at some point). talk to you soon about the details or i will keep checking your blog.

luv u, kathy

Kathi did it. She ran the MC MArathon. We got to see her at the 16.5 mile and then right before she turned onto 14th st bridge. She raised her arms and pumped them like Stallone did in ROCKY. Her smile was like the sun as she danced and raised her arms.

She showed alot of courage and perserverance and I'm not biased.

Her Dad.
