Ta Da!! What do you think??? It's my first "Window Mistreatment"!!
No, I didn't think of this idea myself....once again, I have to give credit to The Nester.
(Boy, my house is looking much better thanks to blogging!!)
Here it is....and the best part.....it was FREE! I already had the fabric left over from our Morning Room curtains. I folded and folded and tacked it up with upholstery tacks.
I also took some rope & clothespins out of our camping bin and hung up some of my Little Buddy's artwork....isn't it cute??? Again....FREE!!
This is what the window looked like underneath.....just your basic basement window well.
Don't go thinking I'm perfect....here is what it looked like behind me. (Yes, the inside of this closet is green.....that is what color the whole room used to be.)
Meet Dakota, my design assistant.
PS. For all you paint color googlers....the color is Plantation Beige by Duron. It looks a little darker in the basement.
***Updated 8/20/08 I am one of the featured bloggers on Blog Around the World today and it is also my 100th post. To read about it and enter my giveaway....go to today's post here!!
Thanks for stopping by from the Nester's place.

Looks great.
I did a mistreatment in my bathroom, but have yet to take pictures of it. I actually need to get a couple more clips, then I'll be all set for show and tell.
Thanks for the sweet comments.
This looks great!!! You did a way better job then I ever did on my first one! :) Don't you just love the tacks??
I kept wondering where the window was--glad you showed up ;)! I love the fabric--and that you kept the closet green. It's fun to have a different color closet, though I think the paint choice you made for the rest of the room is much nicer.
Thanks so much for your prayer in my behalf. I draw such comfort knowing I'm not the only one petitioning God on my behalf.
Have a great week!
Look at you Girl! Looks great!! That reminds me I need to get some more tacks tomorrow at Home Depot! :)
It looks great!
Great job! I love your assistant!
I love that fabric, it's so vibrant against your neutral walls. I was wondering where the window was too. I didn't realize at first it was in your basement:)
What an adorable assistant you have!
What a fun playroom! Great job!
Came over from Nester . . . I was thinking, "Where's the window?" Very good job. In fact, I might be using this very idea to mistreat a couple of windows I've got.
I'm gonna copy that for a very ugly window in my family bathroom
woohoo love all the inspiration, enjoy the party!
What I especially love is how your have your kids' artwork hung up on the wall! I'm going to have to try that with mine! Great idea.
Love that fabric! You did a great job and I'm sure that assistant really helped a lot.
I just love shopping at my house and getting something for free, don't you?

I so thought that you just did a mistreatment in the middle of the wall with no window and my mind went crazy with ideas about how to do something like that in my house!

How can you beat free and easy~I love the colors in the fabric and the plantation beige looks great also!
Love the fabric-and the site...I'll have to bookmark it and go through your archives to find the original use for the fabric!

How cute! I love that fabric!
Great Job. You can not beat FREE.
Free, free, free is the best, Kathi! (P.S. I love in your bio that you're the "Little Mommy" - I will be someday, too, no doubt :o). I thought that you'd done a mistreatment in the middle of a wall and it thrilled me! It looks so perfect with the artwork underneath! Love that you dec'd out the basement window!
Also, I'm a former Kdg teacher, so it was neat to see that you're a teacher, too!
LOVE IT! And FREE all the better!
That looks really great! I love the clothesline art holder too! :)
cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute!
Great fabric--my favorite part, though, is the art display! I need to figure out a place in my house where I can do something similar.
